Discrimination...

The "news" that was repeated ad nauseam today was former President Carter's argument that racism is still alive in the U.S.. He was referring specifically to the fierce and rather derogatory vitriolic criticism being heaped on President Obama.

An experience in India reveals a population that is far more 'discriminatory" than that of the U.S. More than just a few Indians mistreat and exploit other Indians because the latter belong to a different caste, gender, state, or speak a different language. The tragedy is that the situation has not improved much even over the past three generations, based on the reports that keep coming on. My own experience in India recently confirms this aspect.

There's a long way to go - for Americans, for Indians, and for every one else before we can call ourselves "humane."
