Student (mis)behavior

Today's Chicago Tribune has an interesting article on "Rude behavior in college classrooms..."

My experience has been that

a) Quite a few students don't appear to be adequately prepared- for example, I asked students about the material that was used to make the body of a car, and not one had any idea that it was metal.

b) Students are distracted,

c) Students are concerned about the future.

It is not easy being an educator today.
